Final LMS Package and Source File Handover

This article outlines the final steps once a course is fully prepared for LMS deployment, covering publication, packaging, cleanup, upload, and notification.

1. Publish for LMS

  • Publish the entire project using the LMS‐specific settings

2. Zip the Published Output

  • Compress the published output into a single ZIP file

3. Upload LMS Package to SharePoint

  • Navigate to the designated SharePoint folder (e.g., Production LMS package)
  • Upload the zipped LMS package

4. Source File Cleanup

  • Locate development folders:
    • Storyboard
    • Media
    • Development
  • Delete:
    • Drafts
    • Unused assets
    • Feedback documents
    • Any non-final artifacts
  • Retain only the final versions of:
    • PowerPoint slides
    • Word storyboard
    • Audio files
    • Final program PDF
    • Final Storyline file

5. Upload Source Files to SharePoint

Copy each cleaned source-file folder to the same SharePoint location as the LMS package

💡Tip: Copy one folder at a time to avoid potential SharePoint issues

6. Move Folder to Completed

After both LMS package and source files are in place, move the course folder from Production LMS package to Completed modules on SharePoint

7. Notify Client (Paula)

  • Send an email confirming:
    • Successful LMS publish
    • Summary of final prep updates:
      • File optimizations
      • Player settings
      • Resource updates
      • Added/removed slides
      • Menu changes
    • Location of course & source files in the completed folder

8. Update Teamwork

  • Change the project card status to Final
  • Remove any irrelevant tags
  • Mark all outstanding tasks as complete
⚠️Verify all retained files and documentation reflect final, approved versions before handover to ensure accurate version control and audit readiness.
