Player Settings & Elements

This article outlines the standards for configuring the Storyline player interface, including component settings, navigation features, and audio synchronization guidelines.

Player Configuration

Player Style

  • Use the Modern light player with GT purple accent (included in the Storyline template)

Seekbar

  • Internal review: Draggable during review cycles
  • Final LMS version: Draggable functionality restricted
  • Included in the Storyline template

Player Tabs

Resources Tab

  • Requirement: Always included
  • Content:
    • Attach PDF of slides/script after beta review
    • Verify links open correctly when clicked

Help Tab

  • Functionality:
    • Confirm trigger works (if present)
    • Ensure help content displays properly
  • Placement: Accessible via tab (not in the menu)

Glossary

  • Requirement: Confirm with project manager (varies by project)
  • Placement: Never in the menu

Seekbar & Audio Synchronization

Slides Without Audio

  • Hide seekbar and script button

Feedback Layer Seekbar Behavior

  • If no audio: Ensure feedback layer seekbar turned off

Timeline Alignment

  • Seekbar duration must closely match audio length
  • Avoid extended silence periods at audio end

Validation Checklist

  • Modern light player with GT purple accent applied
  • Seekbar draggable in review builds only
  • Resources tab PDFs functional post-beta
  • Help tab triggers tested
  • Glossary excluded from menu (if present)
  • Seekbar hidden on audio-less slides
  • Feedback layer seekbars static when silent
